The Pampered Rose June 2007 Newsletter
Thank You For Being So Creative!
I want to congratulate all of you for creating such beautiful scents. Many of you have really stepped outside of the box and created timeless blends by experimenting with notes from opposite categories.Others have created blends that compliment the season we are in.Since we are in the month of June and school is coming to an end, many of you will be making a lot of trips to the beach. Here is a blend that will fit in perfectly with the thousands of sunbathers who will be covered in sun tan lotion.
Base Note- Coconut CreamMiddle Note-
Warm Vanilla Sugar Top Note-
Papaya Mango
This blend will smell great layered with florals and muskier smelling scents. You can also layer this blend with green and rain scents if you don't mind the slight "minty" effect that may occur.
If you want to make your own blend and don't know where to start, stick to notes that you know that you love and you "usually" will not go wrong.
Good luck and happy blending, Alisani

Blending Tips:
Sweet notes (Vanilla, Benzoin,
Heliotrope, Almond, Coconut, etc), Earth & Wood notes
(Patchouli, Myrrh, Amber, Sandalwood, etc) and Floral (Rose, Violet,
Hibiscus, etc) are great bases.
Green or Fresh notes (Sweet
Grass, Fresh Cotton, Lily of the Valley, English Ivy, etc), spicy
notes, and mild floral are great middle notes.
Citrus notes, Minty notes and Light Floral notes (Sunflower, Geranium
etc.) are great top notes.
- Green notes blended with citrus notes create a "sporty" fragrance.
- Musks, woods, floral, and spices blended together create an
"oriental" fragrance. Use Dragon's Blood or Spice as the spicy note
instead of clove or cinnamon.
- Using orange as a top note will give any scent a "hint" of sweetness
without being cloying.
- If you like vanilla but don't want to smell like a cake, use
Heliotrope, Benzoin, or Oatmeal, Milk & Honey as a substitute.
4.Fruit
& Berry scents should be used as top notes or in lotions
& creams and will compliment a perfume. The same goes for
really sweet scents such as Pink Sugar, Birthday Cake, & Creme
Brulee. We also recommend these scents for body sprays instead of
perfumes.
5.Don't be afraid to get creative. Some of the nicest scents
that we have created are composed of seemingly very unlikely blends.

Just A Side Note:
Always start your day with an
attitude of gratitude.Sometimes we get so absorbed with the
perils of life that we forget that there are a lot of things to be
grateful for.It is important that we remember that
gratefulness should not just follow grand events that are occuring in
our lives. We should be grateful when nothing at all seems to
be happening out of the ordinary. We can start by being
extremely thankful that we have food on our tables and health in our
bodies. We can even stop to appreciate that we have ears to
hear the beautiful sound of the birds outside of our windows and that
we have the eyes to see the flowers blooming in our gardens (or in our
neighbor's garden). When we make it a daily habit of starting
our day off with gratitude, we will start to see more and more
wonderful things happening in our lives.
A
plain person wearing a smile is lovlier than a "gorgeous" person
wearing a frown.
